Great 400 Working Volume 2The Great 400 Working Vol. 2 (2002) SHT 04

The Great 400 Working Volume Two is the culmination of everything you saw in Volume One: the moment when months of hard work finally bore fruit and hundreds of South Africans, as well as enthusiasts from much further afield, converged on the Eastern Free State to plough their way back into the Guinness Book of Records.

On the 20th April, 2002, nearly 800 vintage and classic tractors brought Australia's World Record back to South Africa.

In this unique DVD, you'll experience all the excitement, the passion, the sound and the fury of a great moment in South Africa's agricultural history, as 755 pre-1971 and 31 pre-1981 tractors all ploughed in one field at the same time, setting a new World Record for South Africa.

In the hours leading up to the big moment, you'll also see some behind-the-scenes action: stationary engines and giant antique threshing machines working the lands, while vintage aircraft like Harvards and Tiger Moths grace the skies. Early military vehicles like the Ferret Scout Car stir up the dust in a display of rugged agility, and steam locomotives with august names like Barclay and Lawley haul trains of delighted visitors through the Estate.

When the defining moment of the World Record Attempt finally arrives, trains are staged alongside the field to view the noisy progress of 800 tractors across the land. Helicopters clatter through the blue Eastern Free State sky, and aircraft salute the machines as they plough their way back into history.

If you were there, you'll want to live it all over again. And if you weren't, you can live through it now, in this DVD. All this and more awaits you in the Great 400 Working Volume Two.
